2012 Fieldwork
Further fieldwork is confirmed for 2012 in order to achieve the aims of the project. We will be on site from Friday 6 July - Sunday 19 August. Registered participants can download the Briefing Pack and Application Form HERE. A separate window will open and you will need the password that has been sent to all previous participants to access the document.
In order to view the pdf document you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader: it can be downloaded for no charge from here.
Work in 2011 revealed an earlier phase of occupation in the lower terrace fills that has been dated to the Bronze Age. This needs to be investigated to complete the excavation of the terrace. This is planned for July - August 2012 alongside a continuing programme of geophysical survey in the surrounding fields and post-excavation analyses.
As in previous years, a Training Day for new and existing participants will be held in Exeter in advance of the fieldwork. A series of post-excavation sessions will be held through the winter of 2012-13 to work on the finds and records generated by the field work.
Please note that we cannot accept volunteers who have not pre-registered to attend.
If you have not participated in the project before but are interested in joining the team in 2012 please contact Eileen Wilkes using the contact link on the left.
